For dal:
- 3/4 cup - Whole black gram(urad) soaked in water over night with a pinch of soda bicrab)
- 2 cups - Rajma beans ( soaked in water as same as black gram)
- Onions(finely chopped) - 1 cup
- Tomatoes(finely chopped) - 3/4 cup
- Ginger garlic paste - 1 tbsp
- Garam masala powder - 2 tsp
- Chilli powder - 2 tsp
- Turmeric powder - 1 tsp
- Green chillies(chopped lengthy) - 3
- Coriander leaves(finely chopped) - 1 cup
- Fresh cream - 2 tbsp
- Ghee/Mawa -4 tbsp
- Oil
- Salt to taste
- Whole wheat flour, sieved - 5 cups
- Ghee melted - 1 cup
- Curd - 2 tbsp
- Salt to taste
- Pressure cook Rajma and Black gram till it become soft.
- Heat 4 tbsp oil in a pan.Add onions and fry till brown. Add Ginger garlic paste and tomatoes and fry for 3 min.
- Add chilli powder,Garam masala powder, Turmeric powder.Add rajma, black gram and salt, and cook till gravy become thick.
- Pour Cream and ghee. Now dal is ready.
- Knead a soft dough with flour, ghee, curd, salt and enough water.The dough should not be soft, Bati needs little bit harder dough then chapathi dough.
- Once the dough is ready. roll the dough in lemon size.
- Pre heat oven at 400f. Now place the bati in a cooking tray or u can keep them directly on the oven for 20-30 min.
- Keep changing sides so that it will bake it from all sides evently.
- Once the bati's are ingolden brown bring them out.
- Garnish the daal with coriander leaves and slit green chillies.Dip hot(bati's)dumpings in the dal while eating.
- Add lemon juice to dal(optional).
