Onion Pakoda

Ingredients:

  • Besan powder - 1 cup
  • Green chillies 2 finely chopped
  • Rice flour 1 tbsp
  • Rava 1 tbsp
  • Onions lengthly chopped 1 cup
  • Ghee 2 tbsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Red chilli powder to taste
  • Coriander and Curry leaves
  • Pinch of soda
  • Oil for deep frying
  • Water to knead
Preparation:
  1. In a mixing bowl, put onions, chopped green chillies, coriander and curry leaves, salt, soda and ghee. Mix every thing with hand and leave it aside for about 20 mins.
  2. Now add besan, rice flour, rawa and mix well. If need sprinkle some water.
  3. Heat oil in a pan, roughly make small fritters and deep fry in oil.
  4. Drain out excess oil and store in an air tight container.


Rice Pakoda

Ingredients:
  • Gram flour 60 gms
  • Boiled rice 2 cups
  • Chopped green chilli 1tsp
  • Chopped green coriander 1 tsp
  • Choped onion 1/2 cup
  • Chopped ginger 1 tsp
  • Chat masala 1tsp
  • Oil for deep frying
  • Salt as per taste
Preparation:
  1. Mix all the above ingrediants except oil.Add about 1/4 cup of water to make a thick batter.
  2. Heat oil in a kadai. Spoon the batter with a table spoon, into hot oil and deep fry till light golden brown.
  3. Drain on papper towel to remove excess oil and fry once again in very hot oil briefly.
  4. Serve hot with chutney or sauce.
  5. For this recipe you may also use left over cooked rice.
