Aval Upma

Ingredients:
  • Rice flakes - 1 cup
  • Onion - 1 finely chopped
  • Green Chillies - 2
  • Red chilli - 1
  • Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
  • Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp
  • Urad dal - 1/2 tsp
  • Channa dal - 1/2 tsp
  • Coriander leaves - few
  • Oil - 1 tsp
  • salt - to taste
  • Coconut - 1/4 cup( grated )
  • Curry leaves - few
Preparation:
  1. Clean and wash the rice flakes. Completely drain the water and keep aside.
  2. Take a kadai and heat with 1 tsp of oil.Add mustard seeds, Urad dal, channa dal and curry leaves.Fry till turns golden brown color.
  3. Add onions and green chillies, fry till it turns golden brown.Now add Aval, turmeric powder and salt. Sprinkle with little amount of water.Finally add coriander leaves and serve hot with coconut chutney.
