Seasonings Ingredients:
- 1 tsp mustard seeds
- 1 tsp cumun seeds
- 1" ginger ( minced )
- 1 tsp peppercorns
- 10 cashew nuts
- A pinch of asafoetida
- Few curry leaves
- 1/2 tbsp ghee or oil.
- Wash the rice and dal together.
- Add water, salt and pressure cook for 10 mins. Allow it cool for sometime.
- Heat ghee in a pan.
- Add mustard seeds. when they start to crackle add the remaining seasonings ingredients.
- Saut's for few mins and pour this over the rice and dal mixture. Combine well.
- Serve hot with Coconut chutney or sambar.
